State what the instructions accomplish and mention prerequisites. Present the steps in the order someone will perform them.

Explain what to check if a step behaves differently. Give the reader a route back to support with the information that will help the team investigate.

Assign an owner

Revisit the article when a product changes. A once-useful answer can become misleading if no one maintains it.
